GRAND JUNCTION, CO, UNITED STATES, September 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — TypeTastic, the game-based platform that schools have used for K-12 keyboarding since 2017, today relaunched TypeTastic.com as a broader digital literacy curriculum for elementary classrooms.
Alongside the keyboarding lessons that draw roughly four million students and teachers a year, the site now offers four new curriculum areas for elementary grades, including the company’s first lessons in AI literacy.
The AI Literacy lessons, created for grades 3 to 5, give students an age-appropriate foundation: what artificial intelligence is, how and where it is used, how it learns, and how to think critically about content a machine produced. They also make room for the larger questions, including how AI affects society and whether it could ever replace friendship and human connection.
The relaunched site now covers five areas:
• Keyboarding, K-12. The lessons schools already know, from one-finger beginner activities to full speed typing with all fingers aboard.
• Digital Literacy, K-5. How to thrive in the digital world: how browsers and search engines work, how to communicate online, how to tell reliable information from the rest, and how to use the office software their school already runs on.
• Digital Citizenship, K-5. How to behave online: strong passwords, netiquette, cyberbullying, and the digital footprint every click leaves behind. These lessons support E-Rate and CIPA internet safety instruction requirements.
• Computer Science, K-5. How the digital world works, from the hardware a computer is built from to what data is, how devices connect, and what to do when something stops working.
• AI Literacy, grades 3-5. The newest addition.
Teachers can introduce all the areas without any technical background of their own.

Every lesson on the relaunched site is free to use, with no ads, no login and no signup. Teachers can open a lesson and use it with a class the same day. Schools that want progress tracking can start a free trial of TypeTastic School Edition, which adds a teacher dashboard, class rosters and student reports and was recognized with a Tech & Learning Best of 2025 award.
Every new lesson is aligned to leading frameworks including CSTA, ISTE and state standards, and alignment documents are available for download, which helps teachers and curriculum leaders show which standards each lesson meets.
