Practices report faster and clearer communication with radiologists via Real-Time Chat, Video-Enriched Reports, and a pioneering, diagnosis-first report format.
CLEVELAND, OH, UNITED STATES, September 9, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — RadsForVets, a veterinary teleradiology provider offering board-certified radiology support to practices worldwide, today announced the successful completion of a long-term pilot program testing three standout platform features across fifty-plus partner practices over fifteen months: Real-Time Chat, Video-Enriched Diagnostic Reports, and a report format that places the diagnosis before the detailed findings.
“Thirty participating practices adopted Real-Time Chat as their primary method of contacting a radiologist within just the first month, said Ranjan Jayanathan, Founder of RadsForVets.
Real-Time Chat gave every submitted case its own dedicated message thread with the reading radiologist, allowing a veterinarian to ask a pre-imaging question, a follow-up question, send an additional image, or clarify a finding without a phone call or a wait for a callback. Urgent Chat requests have seen responses, on both sides a of the chat, within mere minutes.
“The RadsForVets chat feature creates a true partnership between our clinical team and the radiologist,” said Kathryn Monick, DVM, Co-Founder of Scout Veterinary Urgent Care. “By sharing additional clinical context and real-time updates on a patient’s response to treatment, we can collaborate more effectively, refine our diagnostic approach, and make more accurate, informed decisions. It’s like having a radiologist on your shoulder.”
Video-Enriched Reports were provided on approximately 40% of cases during the pilot, reserved for findings where a short video walkthrough from the radiologist added diagnostic clarity beyond a written description. Most customers report that the video summaries are an invaluable teaching tool, not just for newer veterinarians, but also for staff. The underlying video-link-plus-QR-code mechanism is patent-pending.
The Diagnosis-First Report Format placed prioritized diagnoses and recommendations ahead of comprehensive findings, letting veterinarians act on a report in seconds rather than reading through several paragraphs first.
“We say we’re always here. What we mean is: a board-certified radiologist reads your case at three in the morning on Sunday or at three in the afternoon on Wednesday, for the same price, and if you have a question, you can actually ask someone instead of waiting for a callback,” said Ranjan Jayanathan. “The video-enriched reports and chat have significantly reduced the number of times the typical customer has to call us for clinical clarifications, which is what we hoped.”
“A prompt and helpful radiology consult can save tremendous hidden costs and time associated with unnecessary repeat imaging studies, prolonged hospitalization, or unclear clinical direction,” said Miriam M. Shanaman, VMD, MS, DACVR, Chief Medical Officer and Co-Founder of RadsForVets. “Our customers tell me, directly and often: they can care for their patients with the highest confidence, and with the least delay.”
Based on the pilot’s results, RadsForVets is now expanding its vet teleradiology service to multiple countries, across every veterinary specialty: GP’s, urgent care, or specialty hospitals.
RadsForVets’ turnaround times and pricing remain constant regardless of when a study is submitted: STAT cases are returned within 1 hour for X-ray and 4 hours for CT, Ultrasound, and MRI, at the same price and speed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every case, STAT or routine, is read by a radiologist certified by the American College of Veterinary Radiology or the European College of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. The company’s radiologist team numbers approximately 30 professionals, spread globally.
