IDCRAFT launches the IDSCOUT Encode NFC encoding station! Encoding jobs in plain language, the AI never writes

The station takes encoding jobs the way they read on the job ticket. The language model
runs locally on the device; customer data never leaves it.

NEUHOFEN, GERMANY, September 2, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Neuhofen, Germany, 1 September 2026 — IDCRAFT GmbH, the vendor-independent distributor and systems integrator for RFID and NFC hardware, announces the general availability of IDSCOUT Encode and with it introduces IDSCOUT itself: the new AI layer above the IDCRAFT portfolio, a family of locally running AI domain experts for the points in everyday Auto-ID work where specialist knowledge is scarce.


The NFC encoding station is the first of these experts and targets label suppliers, media houses and print specialists who want to offer encoding as a service without hiring RFID specialists. The station is developed and assembled by IDCRAFT in Germany; it can be ordered as of today and has been proven in a live test under production conditions.


Setting up NFC encoding today means working with memory banks and lock modes, NDEF records and chip particularities. Label software assumes that expertise. IDSCOUT Encode reverses the workflow: the operator describes the job the way it reads on the job ticket. The station recognises the job pattern, pre-fills a form and marks every value with a traffic light: green is literally evidenced from the job text, carrying the original quote as proof of origin; orange is a model suggestion; red is missing. Encoding only starts after the first label has been physically read back, displayed in plain text and confirmed by the operator. This first-piece check is enforced and cannot be bypassed. The station then writes the batch with a read-back of every label and produces a serial-number-bound CSV report with a checksum plus software and recipe version.


The core of the architecture is one rule: the AI never writes. The locally running language model — open weights, Apache 2.0 licence, model-agnostic and replaceable — recognises patterns and extracts evidenced values. The job itself is assembled and written exclusively by deterministic, tested software using a chip database and vetted recipes. A faulty suggestion fails at validation, at the guardrails or at the first-piece check.


This architecture is also the blueprint for the product family. The idea behind IDSCOUT comes from IDCRAFT’s day-to-day work as a distributor: what Auto-ID projects get stuck on is rarely the hardware — it is the expert knowledge at individual bottlenecks. Whether it is setting up encoding jobs, validating goods, integrating readers, selecting the right hardware or meeting standards. IDSCOUT staffs each of these bottlenecks with a locally running domain expert, all built on the same principles: evidenced answers instead of claims, local operation instead of cloud, and an AI that by construction cannot break anything. Named alongside Encode are Integrate (development assistant for the readers IDCRAFT distributes, in progress), Verify (validation station: checking instead of writing, in planning), plus Stage, Select and Comply.


At launch, the recipe catalogue covers the common NFC payloads: link or text (fixed or with a running number), an individual link per label from CSV, digital business card (vCard 3.0), Wi-Fi access (WPS/WSC, WPA2 or open), Smart Poster with display title, URI presets for phone, e-mail and geo position, raw block/
page, and customer-specific house formats. Supported chips are NTAG213 (144 bytes usable capacity) plus ICODE SLI (108 bytes), SLIX (108 bytes) and SLIX2 (312 bytes). In a live test under real-world conditions, 4 of 4 encoded chip payloads were byte-identical to the specification, each verified three times.


Release was preceded by an acceptance run of the language layer with thresholds fixed in advance. The result: 100 % slot accuracy — 298 of 298 job fields, every measurement repeated three times · 14 of 14 deliberately planted safety traps caught and stopped · 0 phantom values, 0 build errors, 0 determinism
deviations. Pre-registered acceptance run of the language layer, as of 16 August 2026; the recipe catalogue is continuously extended. Since July 2026, IDCRAFT has completed ten such runs covering more than 2,200 checked job fields, every measurement in triplicate — more than 6,600 individual measurements; in no run has a faulty AI value ever reached a label. The series also includes this: run number nine missed the pre-fixed determinism criterion and was not released; the cause was fixed, and the following run passed in full. The thresholds were never moved across all ten runs.


“We gave the AI exactly one boundary: it never writes,” says Patrick Kochendörfer, founder and Managing Director of IDCRAFT GmbH. “It reads the job and backs every value with the quote it came from. Whatever goes onto the chip is built exclusively by tested, deterministic software, and release happens against a physically read-back first piece. That we withheld release of one acceptance run because it missed a criterion is part of that decision: a gate that never fires is not a gate. Encode is the first scout, and we are now taking the same architecture to the industry’s other bottlenecks.”


The station runs entirely on the device, is air-gap capable and requires neither a cloud account nor telemetry; it is operated in a browser over the local network. As an AI-supported system within the meaning of Article 50(1) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, it shows the AI notice visibly in the operator interface; based on IDCRAFT’s own assessment, no high-risk use case under Annex III applies. A one-page AI Act assessment (DE/EN) is available on request. Doing without any cloud connectivity also answers typical questions from NIS2 supplier security questionnaires by design. Based on our market research of August 2026, we found no comparable product that combines plain-language job intake, per-value proof of origin, an enforced first-piece approval and a fully offline audit trail in one device — a research finding, with no guarantee of completeness.
